Yoga and Searchlights

Saturday we went to the great big yoga circle at U of T. In part it was a promotion of Ron Mann’s new documentary Go Further, about Woody Harrelson and a bunch of friends riding along the West Coast promoting sustainable living and whatnot, which was premiering at the Film Festival. (Now magazine had an article on it last week.) Yeah, Woody was there, and said a few words, and then the instructors from Downward Dog Studio took over and led everyone through a pretty thorough basic exercise.

I’d never done yoga before, but I managed to keep up, even if my head felt ready to pop. I think I might actually sign up for more - it seemed to stretch all the things on me that needed stretching. The most amazing part was at the end, when they had everyone lay down and relax for a couple minutes… and a thousand people lay in King’s College Circle staring up at the sky and absolutely silent.

This weekend Julian and I also finished our CD… it’ll be off to the duplication place this week! There are five songs, two of which are now up on our web page. Release party at the Free Times, Friday 10 October. Yay!
